fabric liquidation

so, question. I want to pare down my fabric stash. How should I do that?
I have LOTS of small yardage pieces of craft/quilt fabric plus several large pieces of decorator fabric pieces. Would you etsy it? Is there interest amongst you readers to buy it right off the blog? Should I price it and just put it in the yard sale next weekend?

Help a sista out!

O Happy Night!

Here is a little sneak peak at some of the items I'm prepping for my very first craft show!
I'm working on some flour sack towels, cloth napkins, aprons, and wreaths. I am in crafty heaven.

Come see me and lots of wonderful talented artisans at "O Happy Night" on Tuesday, November 16 from 6-8:30pm at the Happy Cafe on Forest Drive in Columbia. A portion of the proceeds support charitable efforts - last year it was Camp Burnt Gin.

and for those of you wondering, I will have a few ruffle aprons available as well!

Lemme borrow that top.

I am way late to hopping on the Glee wagon. I am strangely drawn to show choir. I can't help it, I'm from the Midwest.

I have a serious style crush on Emma though. I really want to have her wardrobe - its the perfect mix of J.Crew, Anthropologie, vintage and Hawleywood jewelry.

Serious crave worthy outfits comin' at ya.

PS - if you got the title reference - "Lemme Borrow that Top". Good for you, you win 10,000 bonus points. If not, go here. It may or may not be funny.

Cute cute cute.

this house is so cute it is ridiculous. to quote my bff rachel zoe "I die." If I were living in some coastal town and single (don't get me wrong, "real men wear pink" but eric would never want that much pink) this is how my house would look. and I would invite you all over for pink lemonade. and yard games.
and look-y here... I'm getting better about saving sources. Images from House Beautiful.

cutting x 600

I just couldn't wait anymore. I had to get started on the quilt. I already had quite a fabric stash and new that I wanted to do a "patchwork" quilt or "scrap" quilt so I didn't have to buy any coordinating fabric or worry about block placement.

I decided to make a Hexagon patchwork quilt. Simple but very unique. Sort of like this or that:
I've determined to make a twin size quilt (roughly 60" x 80") I'll need about 600 hexagons cut to 3.5" (1/2" for 1/4" seam allowance on each side).
I would never attempt to cut that many pieces without a template. I am amazed what ladies could do by hand back in the olden days. Listen, I am all about the good old days but I want to complete this quilt sometime this year so I'm using this hexagon template. Its so easy to use, just cut fabric into 3.5" strips, line 'em up with the lines on the template and cut the angles on both sides. See?So far, I've cut 278 hexagons. Almost half way done.
Cutting fabric is not my favorite thing in the world but I'd rather cut it all at once than have to keep coming back to my cutting mat. I may have a permanent hand cramp after this weekend.
